Job Description


Each individual performing this function is responsible for not only the overall quality of the activities performed per written procedures and training but also for interaction with the entire team to strive to achieve goals, promote safety and build a relationship with team members through respect and communication.


The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for performing the following functions


1) Perform in-depth quality inspections, as directed by Quality System.
2) Comply with quality instruction and notify the Quality manager when quality instructions contain errors.

3) Interact with processors and cell team members to resolve quality issues and out of control conditions.

4) Ensure that operators understand quality instructions, quality standards, and standard work.

5) Perform complaint audits, as directed by the Quality Manager.
6) Interact with cell team leader, processor, and cell team to maintain and improve both quality and efficiency
7) Participate in internal and external concerns.
8) Be aware of, read, and understand Quality Alerts.

9) Remain aware of customer quality standards for selected products at all times
10) Reject, quarantine, or otherwise, contain the product which does not meet customer requirements. Initiate MAR activities for the cell team.

11) Maintain neat and orderly work area.
12) Perform other duties, as directed by management.

Job Requirements


1) High school diploma or General Education Certificate (GED).
2) Minimum one (1) year previous job-related experience.
3) Team Leader experience preferred.
4) Working knowledge of blueprints helpful.

5) Previous experience with precision gauges, (i.e. calipers, micrometers, etc.), basic mathematical aptitude and SPC training an advantage.
6) Ability to work without direct supervision.
7) Strong oral and written communication skills.

8) Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
9) Ability to judge product defects against aesthetic standards and make a determination of acceptability.

10) Ability to visually detect color variation.

11) Physical Requirements:

a) Subject to lifting fifty (50) pounds
b) Repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing, and sitting, with or without accommodation.
